  We were holidaying at Cabarita Beach and gave this fish & chip shop a go. Here's what I liked:
  - all the seafood tasted fresh
  - multiple salad options
  - great prices
  
  Here's a few things that could be better:
  - chips were over seasoned, we had to scrape the salt off every chip
  - the rice salad was very dry
  - the batter did not stick to the fish, came right off like a jumper
  - grilled salmon was not seasoned at all

  Crispy fish and chips! a kind host My trip became more enjoyable. But when the owner is in the kitchen, he may not know that there are customers. Anyway, it was really good

  We are staying down at Cabarita with family and on the first night we recommended the Stunned Mullet to everyone. Between the three groups we spent over $140 including four large serves of fries. Very disappointed, none of the chips had any salt even though we requested the rosemary and garlic salt so they were extremely bland and most went uneaten. Now I am just left feeling embarassed after using up one of our dinners staying away on food that was really disappointing.

  Simultaneously too Greasy and too Dry.
  
  Had the fish grilled battered and crumbed.
  Battered and crumbed are edible. Bit over cooked. Could be a better crumb, batter was a bit thin.
  
  The garlic butter grilled barra was absolutely cremated. And no butter sauce. So dry it was served in cardboard. Tough as leather. Dry like the cardboard it was served on. Could of got the same result leaving it on the roof for a sunny month.
  
  Chips are not hearty and the serves are ridiculously tiny for the exorbitant price. Also overcooked.
  
  Had issues ordering both visits. Menu items not available or the can't cook fish the way I wanted. Waits where long while they cremated my food.
  
  I won't be back for a 3rd time.

  Probably the best fish and chips in Caba. Might ever be the best on Tweed Coast. Fish portions aren't huge, but they are the best quality. Ask what is fresh and caught wild (savage). Had some fresh, battered, wild Flathead... I cannot remember the last time I so enjoyed fish... The shoestring chips are great too, and apparently cooked in fresh oil. Yep, I was impressed, so I'd recommend The Stunned Mullet to anyone looking for quality fish and chips.
